How to Set Up Mail Forwarding

  I want all mails received in my @home mailbox to be forwarded automatically to another address

Background

@home email allows you to forward all emails received in your mailbox to another address. This can be extremely useful if you are away on holidays and want someone else to manage you mail in your absence. It is also useful when you are switching email addresses and want to redirect your mail to a new address.

Solution

  1. Login to your email account directly from your web browser.
  2. Click on Account Options.
  3. Select the Vacation and Mail Forwarding link.
  4. In the Mail Forwarding box enter the email address where you want to redirect your mail.
  5. Decide if you want to retain a copy of the forwarded mails. If you are out of office it is likely that you will want to use this option so that you know what mails have been forwarded. If you are in the process of switching email addresses you probably won't want to keep a copy since you will be managing your emails from your second account.
  6. Select Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
  7. Note that if you have set up mail forwarding because you are going on holiday it is likely that you will want to inform people that their emails have been forwarded. This can be done using Set up vacation message.
